Five Idaho high school juniors have been named as the 2005 recipients of the Interscholastic Star Student Recognition Scholarships, which are awarded annually by the Idaho High School Activities Association and its official sponsor, The United Dairymen of Idaho.

Regan Charlton, Century High School, Megan Eichner, Kendrick High School, Stephanie Johnson, Burley High School, Elise Overgaard, Weiser High School and Chip Roth, Clearwater Valley High School were selected from a field of one hundred five outstanding students nominated by their high school principals. Twenty-four semifinalists and eight finalists were selected in a two-step screening process. Other finalists were Denise Anderson, Dietrich High School, Madison Beckstead, Preston High School and Heidi Goedhart, Declo High School.

Each Interscholastic Star will receive a $1000 scholarship to the college of his/her choice. All five will be recognized at the IHSAA Hall of Fame banquet in Boise on August 3, and will also serve as Idaho's youth spokespersons for National High School Activities Week, October 16-22.
